Hello,

i received my Yi 4k but it won't recognise my sd card(s).
After turning the camera on i always get "SD CARD ERROR".

I tried the following cards:
- Toshiba Exceria 128 GB U3
- Samsung EVO+ 64 GB U1
- Sandisk SDXC 128GB Ultra Class 10

All the cards are accepted on the old yi and also on the pc.
All cards are formatted with exFAT but i also tried FAT32.

The Firmware is 1.0.7

Anyone got the same problems or anyone with the exact same cards without problems?

So, my San Disk Extreme 64 Gb was giving me the Slow Card error for anything better than FullHD @ 30 Fps.
It failed to work on the GoPro Session 5 at all, but after GoPro released firmware 1.57 the card started working on the GoPro without any problems, and my friend bought the SD from me, very luckily for me, since Xiaomi doesn't acknowledge that the problem exists and doesn't work on fixing the issues anyhow.

I decided to gamble, and try another card. What worked for me was Lexar 633 64Gb card. Cheaper than SanDisk and works better with this camera.

Hi,

I have new Yi 4K (1.3.3) with SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-I U3 64Gb Class10 600x V30 and have same problem "NO SD CARD". Workaround pull and insert card while Yi is power on.
I found, that GoPro also has same problem https://community.gopro.com/t5/Cameras/Hero-5-Black-sd-error/td-p/15556 but last firmware resolve problem.

Yi when will you resolve this problem on Yi 4K?

Thx

Cards that did not work (Firmware 1.3.3):

Lexar 633x 128GB UHS-I - Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0118LR9Z8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Sandisk Ultra 64GB UHS-I - Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-064G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q588D4/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1486668603&sr=1-2

Cards that worked (Firmware 1.3.3):

Samsung Pro Plus 64GB - Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Plus-MicroSDXC-Memory-Write/dp/B01273KFZW/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1486668662&sr=1-1
Samsung Pro 64GB - Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Class-Adapter-MB-MG64EA-AM/dp/B014W1ZQ42/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1486668693&sr=1-1
PNY Pro Elite 64GB U3 - Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/PNY-Elite-MicroSDXC-Card-P-SDUX64U395PROE-GE/dp/B01CVOMZ82/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1486668719&sr=1-1&keywords=pny+pro+elite+64gb

I am returning the 128GB Lexar 633x cards I bought specifically for this camera, and I have ordered the Samsung Evo Plus 128GB cards as recommended by a poster above.

This is not a card issue, but a firmware / hardware issue of the camera. Yi should be very clear about compatibility and offer a working card database.

I have a SanDisk 64 GB Extreme U3 card, which is capable of up to 40 Mb/s write speed.

First, I used the SD as is, out of the box, in the camera without any extra operations with it. The camera recorded like 20 mins of Full HD video. It seemed fine and I tried to record a longer video, however the camera started saying SLOW CARD, writing down videos of 2min max length, then waiting and starting to record a new 2 min video.

Then I formatted the card to FAT 32 with a special tool for Windows, and formatted the card again with the camera (it became exFAT). Since then it started to record videos fine.

So the advice would be, whatever size of the card (up to 128 GB), format it to FAT32 file system and see how it performs.

Hi, here is solution:

1 Can you update the firmware to 1.0.12? http://yitechnology.com/support/firmware_action/id/5.html
2 Please format with exFAT and choose the Allocation unit size to 64 kilobytes if 64GB, 128kilobytes if 128GB

Any problems just let us know

Ive got exactly same problem with that camera - Ive just bought brand new SanDisk Ultra 64GB and its not being recognized by a camera. Whats interesting, when i put the card in while the camera is on then its working fine - can take pictures, record movies and so on. When i turn it of and on again it will show again SD Card error. Any ideas how to solve that problem?! Card formated to both exFat and FAT32 with nor results. Inside my phone and computer card is working well.

format any micro sd to exfat. 4096.
put the sd card in the camera and you,ll be asked to format.
push yes and you are ready

i turned camera on and off, sd card error again. this camera only takes card formated to low cards (fat:default). there seems to be a sd card bug in this yi 4k camera.

I've done it already. When I put the card while camera was on and read it I formated the card. After turning it off and back on SD card was not recognised again.

lol ... not very clever reply !!

What requirements do my camera have for my microSD card?

YI Action Camera supports up to 4K 30FPS HD 720P 240 FPS high frame rate video for a better shooting experience. Please use a microSD card that meets the following specifications:

a. Please use  (class 10  U1 or higher)

b. Support 16-128GB memory card

c. Storage standards£ºMicroSDHC£¬MicroSDXC

d. FAT32 SD card format. After connecting to the mobile app, we recommend formatting the card by going to "Settings -> SD Card -> Format SD Card"

e. Please use one of the officially recommended microSD cards (6 section photo below)

recomandation is only for 64gb model
and i have 128Gb U3 ! it should work .... most sd card seem have problem ....
